Vincent Rusciano

Non-Executive Chairman

Vincent’s experience spans asset and funds management, debt, structured investments, securitisation, capital markets and corporate advice. Vincent has over the past 27 years become an industry leader and authority on debt markets. He had a highly successful career at Heine Management Ltd that resulted in leading the management buy-out of the mortgage division, which was later managed by Treasury Group of Companies.

Vince holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) and is a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA).

Wayne Lasky

Managing Director

Wayne is responsible for business strategy, execution, key stakeholder relations and capital raising. Wayne has 15 years of real estate and finance experience having worked on all sides of the table as an originator, lender, asset manager, real estate investor & developer, project manager & property manager.

Wayne holds a double degree, Bachelor of Business Management & Marketing (Hons), graduating Dux and a Certificate III in Finance and Mortgage Broking Management. Wayne is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management and a Senior Associate of the Financial Services Institute of Australia (FINSIA).

Brae Sokolski

Chief Investment Officer

Brae is responsible for deal origination, structuring and negotiation. He has extensive industry experience having operated in property and finance markets for over a decade and is a recognised industry expert in real estate debt. Brae has previously worked in senior executive roles within the FMCG industry where he honed his relationship and strategic management capabilities.

Brae holds a Bachelor of Law and Business Management (Hons).

Paul Keating

Director

As a member of the MaxCap Board, Paul has a governance focus and provides guidance and oversight on the corporate strategy. Paul also plays an instrumental role developing distribution strategy and enhancing brand recognition in MaxCap’s key markets. Previously, Paul was the Prime Minister (PM) of Australia (’91-’96), Federal Treasurer (’83-’91) and an MP (’69-’96).

During his time as PM, Paul played a key role in the establishment of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum (APEC) and is credited with strengthening and developing bilateral links with Australia’s closest neighbours. His most far-reaching legislative achievement was the introduction of a national superannuation scheme, which continues today.

Michael Fowler

Non-Executive Director

Michael has over 25 years of experience in the financial services sector. Michael has held senior executive roles at this time and has developed vast experience in securitisation, capital markets, corporate advice, asset and funds management, debt and structured investments.

He holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) and is a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australia (FINSIA). Michael is responsible for capital markets and stakeholder relations.

  • Mark Heaven

    Chief Operating Officer

    Mark is responsible for the corporate and investment operational platform, corporate governance and the corporate financial management function and has 25 years’ experience in finance, strategy, operations and governance, compliance and risk management, including six years at KPMG.

    Over the last 18 years, Mark has held executive roles working in retail and wholesale funds management businesses including Aviva, Colonial, Herschel Asset Management, Perennial Investment Partners and EMR Capital.

    Mark holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) and a Diploma in Financial Services and is a member the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in both Australia, England and Wales.

  • Tony Woods

    Chief Risk Officer

    Tony is responsible for compliance, risk and credit policy and has over 25 years of executive experience at National Australia Bank (NAB) and Australia & New Zealand Banking Group Limited (ANZ) Bank, in global leadership roles.

    Tony’s particular expertise is in transactional credit and operating risk, and compliance, risk framework development and testing, having built and led the global risk, business and advisory functions for major Australian banks.

    Tony a holds Bachelor of Economics and is a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australia (FFin) and the Australian Institute of Management (FAIM).

  • Bill McWilliams

    Investment Director

    Bill is responsible for relationship management, deal origination and executing credit and risk functions in Victoria. He has 17 years’ industry experience, including having spent many years developing business and leading high performing teams at senior levels within National Australia Bank’s (NAB) Institutional and Business Bank.

    Bill also brings years of direct credit experience as a Credit Executive at NAB and prior, as a Compliance Manager at Deutsche Bank in London.

    Bill holds a Diploma in Finance and Mortgage Broking Management, Certificate IV in Finance and Certificate III in Banking, and is a Senior Associate of the Financial Services Institute of Australia (FINSIA).

  • Drew Bowie

    Investment Director

    Drew is responsible for business development and portfolio management in New South Wales and is a member of MaxCap’s Audit, Risk and Compliance (ARC) Committee. He has over 25 years’ industry experience in primary and secondary real estate capital markets.

    Past roles include directorships specialising in real estate (RE) finance and loan markets origination, commercial RE equity, and debt investments with Pepper Group, Macquarie Bank, the Royal Bank of Scotland and First Australian Capital.

    Drew is a registered property valuer and a Fellow of the Australian Property Institute.

  • Matthew Perrott

    Investment Director

    Matthew is responsible for leading MaxCap’s geographical expansion into the Western Australian market, in addition to assisting to bring its first CRE debt fund to Australian and offshore investors.

    Matthew has over 16 years’ experience in financial services, real estate development and real estate capital markets in Australia, Singapore and the UK. Past senior executive roles in private equity and listed property development companies include Crest Capital Asia, Azure Capital, Grant Thornton and Port Bouvard Limited.

    Matthew holds a Bachelor of Commerce and is a Chartered Accountant.

  • Chloe Peters

    Senior Executive – Distribution

    Chloe is responsible for private capital raising, private client investor relations, business development and product development. She has 10 years’ experience in investment management and financial services sectors with multinationals and boutique investment houses in Australia, the USA and Canada.

    Previously, she was NSW Business Development Manager at Perpetual Investments. She has also held managerial roles with Peters MacGregor Capital Management, Sprott Asset Management and AGF Investments.

    Chloe holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Business and has also studied at the Ivey Business School in Canada.
